Project Management Process, Set-up, and Implementation for Vehicle Certification
ACM was contracted by a large automotive company to set up a PC based project management system to provide program overview/status, workload projections, staffing level estimates, and facility demands. Additionally, the system had to be capable of identifying bottlenecks caused by workloads in excess of the Test Lab’s and other supporting departments’ capabilities.

The project management system, as designed by ACM personnel to client specifications, integrated other company computer project information systems to supply and receive data elements and information. The linking minimized duplicated entries and reduced manual operator input. The project management system provided networks of linked activities to forecast completion dates, measure performance, and incorporate approved changes that impact the completion dates.

The project management system provided timely and accurate forecasts of potential schedule impacts and resource requirements. The system also included "what-if" capabilities to perform studies of alternative approaches to determine the optimum plan for accomplishing objectives.
