Project Management Training for a City Government
ACM provided training and guidance on the implementation of a project management program to a city government.

ACM personnel performed a review of existing project management practices and conducted interviews with a wide cross-section of city department personnel. The information gathered from this assessment phase was used to recommend a project management software system and to focus on the training portion of the project.

ACM developed a three level training program in project management. The first level was a summary level for a large audience to present project management techniques, applications, and expected results. The second level was a detailed two-day classroom course encompassing project management from beginning to advanced. The third level was the hands-on use and implementation of the selected project management system.

ACM is continuing to provide project management consulting services as the city implements the project management program.

Project Documentation Workshops for Project Managers
ACM provided a training workshop for a major process mechanical contractor's project managers. The project manager documentation training focused on the purpose and preparation of documentation at the project level, documentation such as correspondence, notices, confirmation of directives, interpretations, intents, and exception reporting were covered. Pre-bid, bid, pre-construction, progress meetings, and resulting documents were discussed.

The workshop objectives were to understand the purposes and benefits of good project documentation in order to gain a better understanding of the tools and records used for project documentation. ACM personnel accomplished these objectives by using relevant examples and encouraging active participation.
