The combined projects included replacement of 70 electrical cabinets’ controlling valves, motors, and other field devices located throughout the plant; inspection of over 800 individual Input-Output (IO) points to complete the commissioning of the work; replacement of vibration monitoring equipment on the main turbine and other pumps; and reworking the burner area generating unit to replace 40 individual burners and associated devices and coal, as well as air and oil piping.
ACM was responsible for developing detailed schedules consisting of 1,500 activities, and monitoring the execution of each project through completion. As extensive integration of work was required between the individual project schedules, ACM worked closely with key project participants to understand work requirements and the relationships between the activities. During the outage portion of the project, ACM collected daily status updates from project stakeholders including design and construction contractors, plant operations, and commissioning and project management. Additionally, ACM continuously analyzed the schedules for performance and identified areas for improvement and prepared weekly status reports and summaries of the schedule analysis for management review.
