CAPEX Financial Analysts, Cost Engineers, and Estimators experienced in budgeting, forecasting, earned value, and risk management.  ACM seeks qualified candidates for entry-level, mid-level, senior-level, and consultant-level work who have hands-on experience within the construction, utility, and/or heavy industrial industries.

Cost Analysts, Engineers, and Estimators have experience performing routine tasks related to the collection of data required to prepare reliable estimates, monitor budgets against estimates for a specific portion of a project, applying the principles and techniques of resource monitoring of specific tasks related to the project,  and performing non-routine cost/estimating assignments.  These assignments require the selection and application of resource monitoring and control principles, techniques, and technical knowledge of a construction project.  As trends are identified, engaging in communication to management is required to alleviate and/or mitigate potential concerns.

CPM / Outage / Construction Schedulers

Construction Schedulers must be experienced in critical path method scheduling by utilizing Oracle Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project software. Resource and/or cost loading experience is a plus.  Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in the construction, petrochemical, and/or utility industries.

Schedulers Must Be Able To:

  • Develop and update weekly schedules working with owner and contractor superintendents, field engineers, and project managers;
  • Evaluate project schedule progress, performance and proactively identify developing problem areas;
  • Analyze critical path and constraints to determine effect of changes to project completion and recommend alternative work paths;
  • Conduct analysis to determine alternative courses of action or recovery on slipped schedules.

Candidates also must be able to engage and effectively communicate with project team members to receive and produce schedule information; participate fully and effectively in all project meetings and discussions; and support the management team to maintain timely and effective change management processes, procedures, and systems.

Construction Cost Estimators

Cost Estimators with schematic, design development, construction document, and take-off experience as well as cost validation are preferred. Candidates should have a minimum of five (5) years of estimating experience preferably within the utility, construction, petrochemical, and/or heavy industrial industries.  Preferred candidates have formal education or training in estimating for skilled trade labor.

Estimators are required to make site visits in order to collect information, analyze existing conditions, and develop a quantity survey and takeoff.  Estimators must know or be able to obtain current costs for labor and materials and other factors that influence price; compute and understand accounting and mathematical formulas in order to generate cost reports; and must work well with others. Estimators are confident when presenting findings to engineers, business owners, and design professionals.

Project Controls Analysts (Cost/Schedule)

Project Controls Analysts experienced in reporting, CPM scheduling, forecasting, and estimating.  Candidates must have a minimum of six months of hands-on experience within the construction, manufacturing, heavy industrial, and/or utility industries.  ACM seeks qualified entry-level, mid-level, senior-level, and consultant-level candidates who have hands-on experience within the construction, utility, and/or heavy industrial industries.

Entry-level and mid-level candidates are required to perform the maintenance of controls programs including the generation of schedules, quantity collection, coding of time sheets, and collection of data necessary for analysis by others.  Familiarity with estimating, scheduling, and control concepts as well as drawings, specifications, and plans is a plus.

Senior and consultant-level candidates should excel in cost control, scheduling, earned value, estimating, and project controls, as well as understanding construction drawings, plans, and specifications.  Responsibilities include leading meetings with the Owner and Contractors on cost and schedule matters; advise and assist the project manager and contracting leaders; finalize the Work Breakdown Structure and scope of work; and lead project strategic planning efforts.
