Project Controls Manager

Candidate will have at least five (5) years of project coordination and management experience in the construction industry.  Position(s) are within the utility, energy/power, heavy construction, and/or engineering industry.

Project Controls positions supporting our clients plan and schedule development, task duration and construction cost estimating, resource analysis, report design and development, total cost management, routine statusing, and reporting to management and other client team members and resources.

Duties include experience with database systems, cost controls systems, spreadsheets, reporting tools, and scheduling systems is a necessity for an advanced role.  ACM employees perform CPM Scheduling functions and all associated deliverables and or cost collection, risk identification, and projections and forecast reporting duties.   The reporting responsibilities may involve interface with senior client personal, including director and vice president levels.  Reporting complexity may coincide with project stage-gate phases.

Assist owner and owner’s team in identifying, planning, and coordinating all required owner furnished equipment, services, transition and commissioning activities.  Ensure all coordination and facilitate all approvals, authorizations, directions given to designers, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers and other project stakeholders are under the signature of the client.  The majority of work as client representative, approximately 70%, is conducted in offices, but field inspections, site visits, visually understanding field issues, viewing project site, and verbally and written communicate concerns thus effectively resolving such issues is a requirement of the assignment.

Other work may include acting as owner’s representative, writing monthly or bi-weekly status reports on CAPEX project progress, and performing periodic on-site observations of progress and quality of work and manner of performance.

Business Analysts

Locations:

The Business Analyst should have at least 3-5 years of experience.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Working constructively with project teams;
  • Providing coaching and guidance in the realm of processes; working as a thought-leader for business processes and implementation;
  • Performing root-cause analysis;
  • Developing precise management plans for each project;
  • Performing continuous process improvement;
  • Facilitation of work-package prioritization;
  • Documenting business requirements and planning of each project;
  • Interdepartmental, stakeholder, and upper management communication;
  • Establishing meaning and lasting relationships with project partners for optimized systems integration;
  • Dashboard creation and visualization to understand project performance;
  • Project management assistance.

Business analysts should also have some experience in forecasting, critical path method schedule management, and risk management.  Heavy industrial, construction, and/or utility and manufacturing experience is preferred.

Project Engineers / Analysts

ACM seeks qualified candidates for entry-level, mid-level, senior-level, and consultant-level work who have hands-on experience within the construction, utility, and/or heavy industrial industries.

Project Controls Engineers and Analysts should be experienced in reporting, forecasting, critical path method schedule management, and risk management.

Can also be experienced in supporting supervisor through preparation and maintenance of forecasts and schedules, developing detailed schedules with construction management, supervising the updating of construction forecast to reflect most current plans/requirements, and performing on-the-job training to clerical and entry level professional personnel.

P6 Scheduler

Must be experienced in critical path method (CPM) scheduling by utilizing Oracle Primavera P6.  Resource and/or cost loading experience is a plus.  Candidates should have a minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience with the software program in the construction, petrochemical, and/or utility industries.

Schedulers Must Be Able To:

  • Develop and update weekly schedules working and coordinating/communicating with owner and contractor superintendents, field engineers, and project managers;
  • Evaluate project schedule progress, performance and proactively identify developing problem areas;
  • Analyze critical path and constraints to determine effect of changes to project completion and recommend alternative work paths;
  • Conduct analysis to determine alternative courses of action or recovery on slipped schedules.

Candidates must be able to engage and effectively communicate with project team members to receive and produce schedule information; participate fully and effectively in all project meetings and discussions; and support the management team to maintain timely and effective change management processes, procedures, and systems.

Critical Path Method Schedulers

ACM seeks qualified candidates for entry to senior-level engineers who have hands-on experience within the construction, utility, and/or heavy industrial industries.

A Project Cost Engineer and/or Analyst should be experienced in planning, forecasting, reporting, and critical path method schedule management.

Experienced candidates will also be responsible for assisting in developing budget forecasts, monitoring financial progress of work to assure adherence with budget, and analyzing work progress and developing craft productivity reports to document cost/budget activity.  Additionally, calculating/preparing various comparison reports, charts, and tables for project analysis.
